Program Director

 

Job Summary:
Spirit filled Christian leader to direct the single moms program. This is a part-time 30-32 hour ministry position to assist single mothers in Dakota County in setting and identifying resources to strengthen their families through a long-term Christian mentoring program.

 

Qualifications:
Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Related Field or other qualifying experience.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including some evenings. Minimum of one year of program management experience preferred. Working knowledge of local agencies in Dakota County will be a plus. Applicant must pass background check.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently
  • Ability to handle and help resolve recurring problems
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to use Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Working knowledge of budgeting and budget development
  • Ability to track outcomes

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Connect and collaborate with various resources in our local community and churches.

Clients:

  • Meet with the client to determine if she will fit criteria and explain the mission of M.O.M.S.
  • Co-develop goals with the client this may be for job, budget, parenting or schooling.
  • Obtain a release of information from other agencies the client is connected to
  • Be an advocate for the client to other agencies and services.
  • Aid with preparation for the job market, resumes, cover letters, appropriate dress, etc.
  • Encourage wholeness, mental, physical, emotional and spiritual
  • Be flexible with clients, the needs are forever changing.
  • Meet with clients individually as needed
  • Coordinate/facilitate group meetings twice per month for education and support.
  • Track and report outcomes.

Mentors:

  • Recruit/interview and train mentors.
  • Match mentors and clients
  • Meet with mentors and client to explain expectations of program. There is a three month trial period, that each is aware of and then a commitment for 1-5 years.
  • Review goals set by mentor and client quarterly.
  • Meet monthly with mentors as a group for education and support. Meet individually as needed.

Volunteer coordination for the following situations:

 

  • Moving clients
  • Car repair and purchasing/donation of vehicles
  • House maintenance repairs
  • Transportation emergencies
  • Respite care
  • Helping with resume and job search skills

Special Events:

 

  • Co-coordinate with Administrator the Christmas Banquet and Annual picnic
  • Help with fundraisers, i.e. Santa Lucia bake sale, concerts and others.
